Things to do on Costa Blanca

Water falls with crystal clear waters 1 hr 15 mins drive from apartment. Located North of Benidorm

When you enter the location walk through the outside eating area of restaurant and down the steps to see the water falls. I then think it is best to go back up the steps and carry on the right hand side of the water rather than the left as the right hand side is more accessible for the higher parts of the walk. This trip is not suitable for babies or those who find steep steps difficult.

There are over 100kms of Beaches and coves on the Costa Blanca. There are many shops and there is the biggest market in the region every Friday in Torrevieja. There is also plenty of site seeing.

There is the local town with the Aqua Park that is open during high season from Mid Jun to Mid Sep from 11.00 to 19.00 hrs. Entrance fees are slightly cheaper in the afternoons (after 15.30 hrs).

If you like to visit the quieter areas why not take a drive through the mountains. Get onto the N340 (north of Alicante) sign posted Valencia. Turn off to visit Guadalest. On the way back you can cut through Benidorm and pick up the motorway at Jct. 65 to bring you all the way back to the apartment within 1 hour or so of being on the Motorway. Terra Mitica is near Jct. 65.

The apartment is set on the Championship golf course of Villamartin and is only a ten minute walk to the first tee. Two other golf courses are within a ten minute drive with La Manga being 20 to 30 minutes by car.

There is also a go kart rack approx 2 miles from the apartment where they have a double kart so Dad or Mum can take the youngs ones for a drive.

Torrevieja Market

Visit the large Theme Park near Benidorm called Terra Mitica.

There is a large selection of Bars and Restaurants available.

There is one of the largest markets in the region every Friday.

Go for a drive to see the old Naval Port of Cartagena.

Cartagena - (half an hour south of the Apartment)

The Roman Theatre

Cartagena was founded on 227 BC by Hasdrubal. After its capture by Scipio it flourished as a Roman colony Carthago Nova.

Between the end of t 3rd Century BC and the beginning of the 2nd Century BC it recorded its most flourishing period. Later on it became one of the vast provinces of Empire of Diocietianus. Then, important Town planning and civil and religious architectural works were carried out.

In the midst of the 4th Century it was seized by the Byzantine troops and at the beginning of the 7th Century the City was pillaged by the Visigoths.This theatre to the left was built around year 3BC.

It was dedicated to the adopted children of Augustus, Lucius and Calus. The Building of this important theatre was fostered by members of the imperial family and influential people in the City such as Gallus Pastus. Excavations were started in 1988.
